The Gamshield Service.
To satisfy the Know Your Customer requirements expected of all reputable Remote Gaming companies, a registration process and further checks will be carried out to ensure that players are who they say they are. Every operator will compare this registration data against a number of independent sources to try to ensure that opportunities for fraud are minimised.
The Gamshield system keeps an archive of all data processed by its members that has subsequently been found to be involved in fraud or attempted fraud, so that in a similar way to the Home and Car Insurance industry, it stops similar frauds from being attempted on other members across the gaming industry.
Drawing on the many sophisticated tools used by its members Gamshield will assist with the tracking and targeting of fraud hotspots. Information will then be passed to the National High Tech Crime Unit (NHTCU), National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS), local police forces and bank and payment card fraud investigation departments to take action as necessary.
